A postscript . . .

In Spot's last post, Brandl's Big Splash, Spotty forgot to mention that Brandl and Dewey's premise that religion promotes effort and altruism is probably not correct. In a previous post, Here's a Shocker, Spotty describes a study that shows that the US lags every other industrialized nation (presumably the nations that keep statistics) in most measures of moral behavior, even though the US is more "religious."

Readers will probably also recall some of the rants about the moral and religious South after the 2004 elections. Wendy Wilde conducted a little survey, too.
